5th Sept

The Building Inspector came today and agrees we are ready to put the underfloor heating pipes down in the corridor and to pour the concrete floor in the first part of the stone building.

August 16th

The old concrete floor in the part of the stone building accessed from the corridor needs to be removed. There was a huge lump in the middle that took some effort. They certainly wanted that bit to stay there when they built it!
Just as well we had the high lift jack.

August

The corridor is now mostly wind and water tight, the front door is on and the two rooms in the stone building have been knocked into.
We will render the block work later - probably white.

1st June

The corridor is coming along. Very hard to find an oak door and frame which will hold us up in becoming water and wind tight.

April 2014 - new site agent

We now have a new site agent and things are moving along quite quickly.

Trenches are in for the walls of the link piece and the ground has been levelled to the rear of the house.

April 2014

The bathroom is now complete apart from Bath panel and flooring. Downstairs is plastered and the tracks are laid our for the underfloor heating.

March 2014

1. The Bathroom is nearly finished, including a fully functioning toilet.

2. We have internal doors upstairs and loads more plasterboard downstairs.

Feb - tiling the bathroom

The rooms are starting to look more habitable and the final fit is starting to take place.

Jan - the boreholes go in - at last!!

After nearly a year of discussions with the underfloor heating company and many technical queries we have finally got a contractor to drill our boreholes. 300m in total.
The slurry makes a bit of mess and with the wet weather the site became a bit of a quagmire but we are pleased that they are finally done.

 The finished collector.
